Embrace Proactive Aging: Naomi's Approach to Skin Rejuvenation
Let's talk about some of my favorite skin rejuvenation treatments and why SPF is your best friend, even on a cloudy day. Remember, your skin is still photosensitive, so slather on that sunscreen!
The Power of Skincare: Prepping and Maintaining Healthy Skin
Proper skincare is essential for prepping your skin before treatments and maintaining results afterward. At our practice, we swear by Zo Skin Health for achieving real results. Starting with a solid skincare regimen ensures your skin is in the best possible condition to respond to treatments, and continuing with high quality products at home helps maintain and enhance your results. Consistency is key—great skincare lays the foundation for all other treatments. This is the foundation of our treatment plan.
IPL and BBL: The Power Duo for Clearer Skin
If you've had Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) or BroadBand Light (BBL) treatments, you're already on the path to a more even skin tone. These treatments pull out reds and browns from the skin, and while more than one session is necessary for the best results, the low downtime is a hit with our clients.
Laser Resurfacing: Taking It a Step Further
For those looking to target texture, fine lines, pore size, and deeper pigmentation, resurfacing lasers like CO2 are fantastic. CO2 laser literally resurfaces the skin, leaving a rough sandpaper texture for about 5-7 days. This process can be repeated monthly, especially if the pigmentation is deep within the dermis.
Combination Treatments: The Best of Both Worlds
I love combining treatments like CO2 and IPL for enhanced results. Microneedling with RF is also excellent, though it requires precision to avoid melting the necessary fat in the skin. This is why researching your provider is so important, rather than just going for the cheapest option. A comprehensive plan ensures you receive the best results tailored to your unique needs.
Lasers vs. Injectables: My Take on Slowing Down Aging
While I'm a huge fan of lasers for slowing the aging process, I believe in a balanced approach. Small amounts of filler, a decent dose of Botox, plenty of laser treatments, medical-grade skincare, SPF, and a healthy lifestyle make for a winning combination.
Lifelong Learning and Industry Insights
Staying updated with the latest advancements is crucial. Our nurses attend conferences, read studies, and maintain strong relationships with their product reps for in-house training quarterly and sometimes even more frequently. This continuous education ensures we are the best providers and mentors to our team of nurse injectors.
Proactive Aging: Celebrating Each Year
I've moved away from the term "anti-aging" and prefer "proactive aging." Age is something to be celebrated—each year is a milestone! Inspired by the Envy Pillow founders, Kim and Kathy, I embrace tools like their pillows for spine alignment and their antimicrobial pillowcases.
Threadlifts and Collagen Stimulation
I've been performing threadlifts for nearly a decade, though I see them more as collagen stimulators than actual lifters. Despite the recent removal of PDO threads in Ontario, I still use Silhouette InstaLift cone threads and hyper-diluted Radiesse for stimulating collagen and elastin. Radiesse, a calcium-based filler, is great for areas like the lateral face, neck, décolletage, and hands.
Final Thoughts
I hope this glimpse into my approach to skin rejuvenation and proactive aging was enlightening. In this ever-growing industry, it's all about finding the right balance and staying informed. Cheers to aging gracefully and proactively!
